Car Hire
Cars can be rented in South Africa from local or International companies. You will require a valid international driver's license to rent a car. Drivers and all passengers must wear seat belts. There is a speed limit of 120 kilometres per hour on freeways and 60 kilometres per hour on urban roads. All cars are right-hand drive (drive on the left-hand side of the road) with manual gear change. Hired cars may not normally be driven across the border to other African countries.
