The official inauguration of the XIX FIGO World Congress will be held in the Auditorium 1 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) with a live video link to the Ballroom. A reception will be held in the exhibition halls after the ceremony where refreshments will be served. |

Jazz with foot tapping melodies, a wide range of South African wines paired to a scrumptious traditional three course dinner, not

A gourmet experience featuring unique Cape Cuisine with Phillippa Cheifitz, award winning cookbook writer and food editor on
Woolworths Taste and Femina magazines, who will give a short talk on a modern history of eating in Cape Town plus discuss her
approach to food in her two favourite cookbooks Cape Town Food (Struik) and Lazy Days (Quivertree).
The menu will be based on the recipes in the book; contemporary cooking using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. |

Venue: Two Oceans Aquarium
The southern tip of the African continent is the meeting place of two mighty and Bountiful oceans, the
Indian and the Atlantic. The Two Oceans Aquarium on the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town is ideally
positioned to showcase the incredible diversity of marine life found in these two oceans. The Predator
Tank contains 2 million litres of seawater and is a dramatic window on the ocean. Large ragged-tooth
sharks patrol the exhibit whilst an assortment of graceful rays, shoals of silver predatory fishes and a
loggerhead turtle swim effortlessly against the current.
Other spectacular viewing points on this masterpiece include a semi-tunnel, which hugs the perimeter of
the tank. This affords close-up views of the inhabitants as they glide past overhead. |

Friday 9th October 2009
The closing ceremony will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). The ceremony will mark the close of the XIX FIGO World Congress and inauguration of the incoming FIGO President Professor Gamal Serour. Rome, Italy will be presented as the host of the XX FIGO Congress in 2012. Refreshments will be served after the closing ceremony. |
